 Application Developer, Administration Application Delivery
Position Summary:
The Application Developer is responsible for performing development, implementation and support of application systems. This individual participates in functional and technical design reviews. The Application Developer will work in a multi-site team to maintain systems support for applications in the production environment and responsible for maintaining the Production environment and addressing requests. There will be opportunity for the Application Developer to belong to a project team and perform project duties for specific deliverables and timelines.

Skill & Compentancies:
Competencies:
• Experience working in an IT Environment on an IBM Z/OS mainframe and TSO/ISPF
• Basic understanding of Functional Requirements and Workflow Analysis
• Previous experience working with the System Development Life cycle - design, programming. testing, implementation and documentation
• Work experience working with IT programming languages PL/1, Cobol, as well as JCL, DB2, IMS
• Work experience with IT products/tools such as File/aid for IMS, Syncsort, Xpediter, ACF2, Zeke
• Works effectively and efficiently in a virtual, multi-site environment
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Team player
• Travel to Canada is required
Assets:
• Previous work experience in an Application Maintenance support role
• Knowledge of the Problem Management and Change Management processes
• Knowledge of PL/1 language would be an asset
• Familiar with application maintenance support practices
Key Responsibilities:
• Writes programs of moderate complexity and scope, working with or contributing to application systems designs and specifications, and utilizing standard procedures and techniques
• Performs coding, testing, debugging and implementations. Writes documentation that describes solution, installation and operating procedures.
• Participates in post-implementation reviews of both application development content and process to maximize and share learnings
• Provides ongoing support of application systems in production including problem analysis, resolution, escalation and reporting as necessary
• Provides coaching to novice developers and peers on tools techniques and processes
• Support Governance & Compliance processes by ensuring controls are a common practice amongst systems
• Participates as a member of a team to address Corporate Business Continuity Process (BCP) initiatives like Disaster Recovery
• Provide oncall support on a rotational basis
• Designs and implements a self-development plan
• Provides input into personal development plan of others
