• Good hand in Technical Skills like Multi-Tier / Client-Server skills: Sun Forte UDS, MS-SQL 7.5/2000, T-SQL, MS-Visual Basic

• Proven design experience in a Client/Server environment (working knowledge of CASE-tools and UML is a distinct advantage).
|
|
• Good Organisational skills and strong ability to multi task
|
|
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
|
|
• Proven technical leadership skills, quality & deadline driven and a good team player.
|

• Willingness to Travel

| Key
Responsibilities: |
|
• Maintain and acquire expertise of multiple enterprise-wide systems developed upon multi-tier and client-server technologies - predominantly Forte UDS. (SUN UDS Forte & SQL Database support - ideally some Visual Basic, PowerBuilder). You will become one of our subject matter experts in a domain area and transition our systems to new technologies (i.e. J2EE platform).

• Provide Senior level technical expertise in problem solving, design and construction of Client/Server applications ready for migration to new technologies & platforms. Provide mentoring and guidance to other developers on the team.
|
|
• Strong ability to communicate and document systems and applications using functional specifications and technical design, to key project team members both orally and via diagramming notations.
|
|
• Strong organization skills required, with constant production of high-quality coding following Sun Life best development practices
|
|
• Ability to provide accurate effort-estimates and reliable timelines for deliverables.
|
|
• Provide mentoring, investigate and direct peer-reviews. Where required act as the subject matter expert for specific coding applications / platforms within the team
|
|
• Realize meaningful unit test-plans, systematically implemented and updated.
|
|
• Undertake all work to internal Quality Management System standard
|
